Conclusion
We have initiated the modern era of hip resurfacing which can at last realize the many theoretical benefits of resurfacing that surgeons have been aware of for 40 years. We are flattered that now two major overseas multinational orthopaedic corporations including Switzerland and Smith & Nephew (USA) have recently entered the market with metal on metal resurfacing devices.
