Surgery Day
Surgery went better than expected. After waiting 1 1/2 years for
resurfacing to be FDA approved, they thought they may not be able to do
it (due to some cysts) but they were able to do the resurfacing.
Needless to say, I am very happy!

I had nothing to eat and had not changed body position. I could not move
my leg, lots of pain. I thought I was going to die and afraid that I
wouldn't!

What a difference 24 hours makes. I feel great. I headed to the Meriter
Retirement Center for therapy. I arrived here on Sunday. What a great
place and great people. We were in limbo for a couple of hours but we
got our therapy schedule. I had land physical therapy. I had guests over
and what a nice place to converse – much better than a "room." We
ordered out for pizza.

Today I had my first pool session. What a wonderful thing. Just loved
it. Then shower was great also. Walked up to square and also walked
around the block. Feeling Good.

Today I had more therapy. I went to lunch with friends then to the pool.
What a great feeling. I walked up to the square for a sandwich tonight.
Walking better, no pain. I'm getting better everyday.

Today I walked around the block. I had lunch in this nice apartment.
Then I went to water therapy. That water feels so good. I went to a
steak house for dinner. After I came back I went on a little jaunt up to
the square.

I got the clamps out this morning. We will pick up and go home today. I
feel truly blessed and lucky.
Something feels "sick" and "wrong" about calling your surgery a
wonderful experience but I guess I'll have to be "sick" and "wrong" from
my first pre-op appointment to now. I feel truly cared for. The folks
involved with this whole resurfacing program are truly quality
individuals. Dr. Rogerson, Renee, Desiree and Caroline.
I want to thank all the folks at Meriter Hospital from Admission to
discharge and all the folks at Meriter's Retirement Center. Jerks must get
jobs elsewhere because they don't get jobs here. What can I say? Thank
you.
