Birmingham Hip Resurfacing - Patient Journal

Ron Lavack - February 2007

February 4, 2007 - SuperBowl Sunday

Today is my surgery day, Monday, February 5, 2007. I need to be there at 7:30 a.m. It is 16 degrees below zero. So cold the schools are closed!

I have looked forward to this surgery for months. My four years of research paid off. I found Dr. Rogerson’s ad page and knew this was the procedure I wanted.

The hip resurfacing was a success and Dr. Rogerson and staff couldn’t have been more caring and professional.

The “HipHab” has been a home away from home. It is clean, comfortable and convenient. Physical therapy was just as promised. Desiree and Caroline took their time to explain and demonstrate every movement of each exercise. The pool therapy was by far the best! I was really impressed when Dr. Rogerson took the time to come and visit twice while at HipHab.

All in all our experience here in Madison has been fantastic! Meriter Hospital has wonderful nurses and staff especially Carrie and Jane! The Meriter Retirement Center is first class. This is a true blessing to be Dr. Rogerson’s very grateful patient.

Today is Sunday, February 11th and I’m going home to Michigan. It is a 422 mile drive. We will see you in six months. Healed and ready to explore Wisconsin Dells.
