Birmingham Hip Resurfacing

Insurance Coverage
Birmingham hip resurfacing is the only hip resurfacing procedure with FDA approval. For this reason, the procedure and services are covered by most commercial insurance companies. Our office is glad to help you determine your eligibility.

Dr. Rogerson and Meriter Hospital have already received formal approval for this procedure from Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation and WPS. We are working with other companies to receive formal approval and will post updates to this site as they occur.


Out-of-Pocket Costs
As with all medical services, the usual copays and deductibles in your insurance policy will apply to hip resurfacing.

The cost of hip resurfacing is no more than traditional total hip replacement surgery. Also, patients will not incur any additional out-of-pocket expenses for HipHab, a rehabilitation stay.

Before your surgery, we will work with you to estimate what you will pay out-of-pocket for the hip resurfacing procedure and your HipHab stay.
